Unmoveable!

Start from yesterday, I am officially lost my precious "小灰" and also called "little grey" in English which this nickname is given by a cute friend of mine. I mean 'Lost' it as I had sent it to Port Klang to be sending back to Port Kuching which will takes around 4-5 days to be arrive in Kuching by Ship. I miss u, 小灰。 Ever since I lost you, I have been stuck in my room most of the time as the public transport is totally inconvenience & infrequent. Anyway, thanks for bringing me around in west malaysia here. I will see you in Kuching soon, 小灰。。。

New Generation coming...

Saw this scene in my bathroom when my lopo showed me,

Two worms couple Loving so passionately...

What will happen after that?

Of course their kid is coming out to breathe...

Dancing King!

I was so amazed when I read & watched the news & video clips about a passionate Singaporean Uncle actually just jumped up from the audience seats of the local King Kong Jane band's mini concert at Esplanade and dance. He actually dance with his own DIY of dancing style. Importantly, it looked just fit to the rhythm of the songs. Awesome dance!

Learning New English Comprehension At Kopitiam

In this blue & shiny morning, I went to a Koptiam at a residential & commercial area called Kota Sentosa, also known as 7th mile (not the supernatural Sentosa Island ya) to have my breakfast with my family during my holiday. What's the yummy yummy food which going to be my breakfast? Of course is my favourite and traditional hakka delicacy, Hakka Lui Cha (客家擂茶), more specific is called Hopo Lui Cha (河婆擂茶).

Hopo Lui Cha/河婆擂茶

In describe Lui Cha to be detail, best I take the sudah ada punya descriptions from this informative kuching food link:

*Lui Cha is basically a vegetarian dish that is mainly eaten by the hakkas but is now popular with all the other dialects as well. It consists of chopped/shredded vegetables in a bowl of rice and eaten with a thick herbal/vegetable broth/soup that is green in colour looking and smelling almost like a thick green tea! The name Lui Cha translated in hakka literally means ‘grinded tea’. The old fashion and time honoured way is to grind the herbs in a ceramic bowl with a wooden pastle. As it’s tedious work, most people just use the blender these days.

While I am waiting for my Lui Cha, sure I am looking around to fulfill my curiosity (masih budak tuk bah). I looked and looked, then I found a banner and its contents had made me paiseh in depth of my heart doubting of my proficiency in English, even though mine is ok ok nia lah, but still is University level right, Moi kau kau (don't play play in Hakka). Then I trying to figure it out and gorek-gorek inside my brain also can't comprehend the meaning of it. To settle this, I have to ask my eldest brother, Ah Chung (liang zai da ke) to clear my doubt about it. If not, when people do ask me about it, I don't know it will be very paiseh leh.
Ah Loon (Me): Ah Chung, want ask u ar, what is the meaning of hankering?
Ah Chung: Oh, is means feel a desire for or to do something. These are the meanings loh. Why you ask about this word?
Ah Loon: "Feel a desire for or to do something"? Wah, the meanings quite complex for me lah, patutlah I cannot understand leh. But why put hankering, the Kopitiam tiaw ka (boss) scared people fulfill their desire at his kopitiam? Fulfill desire in drinking and eating also cannot meh? If cannot, the Kopitiam must be declared bankruptcy already.
*If not that what it means, when thought of this Feel a desire... again, many images suddenly crossed over my mind that time. Oi oi oi, time to wake up! If not I might end up in breaking his kopitiam's regulation there.
Then why put "No. Hankering"?

Since the Chinese words are "禁止摆摊贩卖",should means "Prohibited of Hawkering" or "No Hawkering". If these meanings are not what the Kopitiam wanna express, then I believe what the Kopitiam tiawka really means is that he warning that its place is "Prohibited of Hawkering" in Chinese words (should be worry about people hawering there, selling Men's Power Boosting Accessories and then Lost Control...that's why he put NO. HANKERING in English). One Banner with dual languages supposely the same meanings but this case is dual meanings (save space, money and time).

The Longest "OT" I Had In My Work

Briefly, currently I am working for an audit firm with its company integrated with secretarial & tax department sama sama together. Basically I'm assigned under tax department & sometimes secretarial but not audit.

So then my longest "OT" (Overtime) during happened on last thursday which is the most important day for our 'effective' & 'efficient' government department "Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia" as this the the last day for the submission of Annual Return+Audited Financial Statements for a company (Sdn. Bhd.)

I have assigned a task as "office boy" for this important day since my "Tiao Kah Niong" (taukehnuo in hakka) sees me as a hyperative guy (Regretted that I told her..)

So that morning I started my journey on the morning once I was assigned with this "office boy" task by driving car + Lrt + walk = SSM and reached there at around 10.30pm. Thought that I am consider early lah, mana ti (mana tahu)

Ngaiti, many people already standby there and queue to take the sequence no. I took my sequence nos. and it showed 4075, 4076 & 4077 for 13 forms I have. (1 no. for max. submission of 5 forms only). The signal board there showing 3025 at the moment & means I have more than 1000 nos. to go! Then I thought ok lah, relax mah, should be take around 6 hours waiting time to reach my turn like previous experience I had.

Since almost 12.00pm already after sitting there for one hour, then is taking about lunch time somemore so then I went to Pizza Hut, my favourite pizza eatery, with myself only loh.

While eating, reading the star newspaper (purposely bought it for today), then also cam whoring for a while loh to utilize my time to the fullest.

Stayed at the restaurant till 1.30pm something, so is time to go back to the patient level evaluation place liaw. Thought the people there should be slightly lesser and the sequence no. should be around 3500 something, once I reached there

Har?!!! Still the same amount of people and seems getting more, somemore the sequence no. on the screening board showed no. 3340 only. Haih, it likes overall the staffs there only can process 72 nos./jam (3340-3125= 215/3hrs=72 nos.) If like this, means that I have to wait for 10 hours more for my turn!!! (4075-3340= 735/72 = 10 HOURS). Aiyo, relax mah yu loon, won't take so long one, you must have trust on Malaysia mah, you din't see or heard Malaysia's slogan always said "Malaysia Boleh, Malaysia Boleh!!!" one meh especially in sports contests. So government staff & system's performance also Boleh punya!

Wait, wait, wait and even curi-curi use the internet of public PC's there which are exclusively for business function of SSM only. Until I sticked my butt on the chair for 5 hours and even got chased out by the Security guard from using the PC, the amount of people waiting is still the same and sequeue no. only 360!!!

It was already 6.30p.m. I started become impatient already and really need to meet a new friend there and have a chit-chatting session in order to dispel my loneliness there. I don't have mood to for dinner and scared the nos. will suddenly fly to my no. the time while I am going for dinner. Of course scaredloh, later pass over my no. then cannot submit anymore and I mah have to get scolded and have to pay the late lodgement RM50.00/perform which is RM650.00 overally myself to offset my guilt.

Then I went to met a new friend, Jacky (also waiting as well) there who is a passionate and friendly guy. So since I knew he's unable to hear and talk (noticed it when he came to SSM, later than me), then we use words writing on a paper to communicate. Since the communication through words writing kind of slow, so I requested him to teach me the basic hand language he is pro with.

Jacky & Me

He is so kind that he gave me this basic hand language guidelines on alphabet & number taken from his beg. And he conducted a lecture session between him and me only at the front desk service booth area and most of the people there looking at us with colourful eye. It was glad that I met him there and we spend the whole night hand signing & lecturing.

We chat ya chat & also looking at our watch at the mean time, and I have no doubt this is the 1st time I saw government staffs actually work OT for about 16 hours (until 12.00p.m.) & actually working non-stop "zi zi zi" on our forms submitted like what the JPJ/Pos Malaysia "zi zi zi" when we renew road tax document. The time I managed to submitted & got my copies was already 11.30 p.m. night! From 10.30am till 11.30pm! And the amount of people waiting still

I don't know what can I really describe for our SSM department whether it is super efficient or they like to have OT? sounds like Malaysia has really started become a real Malaysia Boleh already. So to end this all up, hereby I would like to thank Jacky for the lecturing & really nice to meet you & sorry If I abuse your teaching. To describe SSM with what I learned from Jacky,

"S"

"S"

"M"

"B"or "I swear"

"O"

"L" or "Yo Man!"

"E"

"H" or "Bang! Bang!"

SSM BOLEH

I think I missing something to strengthen the support. Oh, I know already, is

"!" = exclamation symbol

SSM BOLEH!

p/s: Jacky din't teach me for all the additional meanings except for the alphabets & nos. ya. Sorry to Jacky for dissapointing him for creating my own hand language for the last symbol.

Restaurant Toilet 'Platform' with Fish

Usually what is the 1st image a Malaysian (Apply to man only in this post) will think in his mind when is about Public Toilet in Malaysia? I believe definitely must be something like this

"Toilet Peeing Platform"?, sounds so formal, not sure on how to term it. * Erm ho yi shi (paiseh in hakka), it is extremely a disgusting scene...hope you din't have your meal right now.

If I ask you do you want a toilet like this in your neighbourhood community public toilet or even in your house, of course no one wants it at all. After you had seen this

A.....

"Male Peeing Platform with Carp fish"!!! I read this news from chinese kwongwah daily e-newspaper last week and found this 1st ever toilet with fish exclusively in only one restaurant from Malaysia, Penang. But this idea already implemented by a restaurant in China already where the Penang 'tiaw kah' (tauke in hakka) learned from it during his travel in there. The tiaw kah (tauke in Hakka) is really creative by the way and daring to spend this money$$$.
How? Do you want one too in your community area right now?

Bird = Bat?

What's the first thought cross over your mind when you think of a Bird?...yeah don't doubt...is the vertebrate animal I mean where we always see it flying freedom in the blue sky.But all these facts I have started to doubt about it whether the bird had progress into a 'Bat'??, after I saw one incident I called it 'extraordinary' in my life.

Is it bird = bat?

This is what I have seen...At the early morning of my day in my hometown, Kuching, I woke up early that day and I took a basic checkup on my dad's Storm Evolution 4WD's engine oil, coolant, tyre pressure, tyre grips condition and then of course I automatically check on the spare tyre where it is located beneath the tent. I am doing these as I have to begin my trip to Sibu in next two days by driving his 4WD.

So then i bend down to look at the spare tyre whether it still got enough air pressure and in good condition or not................................i see......................

Ngai...................

Ti!!!!!!!!!!!

What is this?!!!! isn't it is a skeleton of a dead bird!!! how come it will hanging on the spare tyre upside down...how could it happen!!!? is it wanna have a 'hang hang' ('jalan-jalan' in Hakka dialect) trip with the car but then fall asleep there and forgot to wake up? or may be it wanna try to imitate Bat's sleeping style and at last realized it can't? What do you think???

Individual Report

1. How is your understanding of the topic after doing the project? Understanding about interactive multimedia?

After involved in the project on “Celebrating Malaysia's Cultural Heritage”, I developed a deeper understanding about my country’s culture in the aspects of food, festivities, traditional games and broaden my views on the hidden culture aspect which I am not really heard of like chingay games. Furthermore, I also felt that the cultures of Malaysia are very unique and even some of the cultures only exists exclusively in Malaysia like Gawai Dayak, Rainforest World Music Festival, etc. Indeed I have getting developed fondness in exploring Malaysia culture through traveling more within Malaysia great places to broaden my view and experience the diversity of different cultures.

Throughout all the assignments such as E-wallpaper (Photoshop), Personal Website (Dreamweaver), and Animation of Introductory (Flash), and the final assignment I have involved in, indeed there are new and fresh experiences I have ever have by using the multimedia applications and tools. Although I did not able to learn deeply about the multimedia applications and tools in it due to my slow learning progress of myself (lack of self-learning instead rely on lectures and tutorials only) and busy study schedule, but all these lesson and tutorials have exposed me to the fundamental knowledge and information which indeed had help me to take the first step in these multimedia field. These interactive multimedia applications have been competency skills that people should possess in this fast growing technology and globalization world in order to expand their networking, connection, delivering ideas, knowledge, etc no matter in aspects of business, education, financial and etc. I believe I will continually upgrade my skills in it and by practice more and searching for useful guidance to gain more knowledge of it and to apply it in my future workforce or personal life.

2. What were the problems faced since Proposal 2? How did you/your team solve your group problems?

Basically, the problems faced since the Proposal 2 is the lack of knowledge and multimedia skills in the multimedia applications especially Flash in doing the creative and special effect for the website. But it has been solved through the guidance of our leader, Ah Teh in providing the useful and resourceful references’ links and clips for us to read, watch and learn. Besides that, Mdm. Lydia and Kak Nor also had taught us the functions of some multimedia tools and recommended some references links for us in tutorial class and online discussion board.

3. What would you do differently next time?

I will being more independently and dedicated in searching the references links and being consistently in practicing the multimedia tools in the Flash and the others such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Besides that, I will also take initiative in seeking advice and guidance from experienced lecturer, tutor and friends in this multimedia field. As “practice makes perfect”, I will take the right action promptly which I mentioned as above when I faced the problem.

4. How is your motivation level?

About the motivation level in this overall subject with the assignments and project, it is quite unpredictable as my motivation level is quite fluctuating all the way along the assignments. When I faced problems in figuring what suitable themes, ideas and functions of multimedia tools for my assignments and this project, I would get anxiety and being moody as I am mostly worry about due date of the assignments is coming soon and could not finished on time with good and creative works.

5. How was working with your group & group leader?

It is a great experience of working together with the group members and group leader, Ah teh. I am happy to meet a new group member and new friend as well who is Diyanah who I never met her before in my university life until we took this subject together. I also feel glad that we have elected a great leader, Ah teh who I have knew him for some time in university here. He is a competitive and good leader who is good in IT and multimedia stuff such as photoshooting, blogging, designing and etc. So it is the wisest choice of elected him as our group leader in this project to guide and lead us to the correct steps in doing this project.

6. How was it working on the project?

It is a fun and knowledgeable experience working on the project with the others. It helped me to improve my knowledge on the Malaysia’s culture and multimedia applications.

7. How were your teammates & Group leader?

All of my teammates are being friendly and co-operative with each other expect Aaron had disappear (quit) already from nowhere in the half progress of this project. We have been strategically assigned different tasks or topic in the project from Ah Teh. Ah Teh as the group leader has been very responsible and dedicated in this project. Without his guidance, I believe that I will have a tough time in learning the multimedia tools and doing the project. Hereby I want to thank Ah Teh for it, thanks Ah Teh.

8. Personal evaluation of your own effort and that of your team

I evaluate my effort level in this project as middle as I have been bit slow in learning the multimedia tools and applications and not able to submit on time my assigned part to leader on our agreed submission date to leader to check, amend and compile it. The others are doing quite well in the tasks and being co-operative. I can see that the others have putting their efforts in this project but the highest contributor and highest effort put in this project is still our leader, Ah Teh.

Final Project

This is the final assignment finalized output we have done. Ah Teh as our group leader has compiled all our works and integrated all in it in this website. This is my assigned part on Festivities. Hereby I would like to thank all of you for the guidance and advice on my assignments and this project as well.

Assignment 3 (Flash)

Hi, this is my simple flash which had done by me mostly on drawing aspect with some storyline.
I drawed out the clouds, mountain, sun and the others in the Flash application itself with the help of drawing tool and colour choices to show a storyline about me or anyone taking abroad on a plane and arrived on my hometown which is Kuching, Sarawak and showing the symbolization of my hometown native's lifestyle with a Iban native with his blow pipe weapon which we called "sumpit" shooting on his hunt (bird). At the end, a car will driving along the road with a ballon attached on its tail after the plane is arrived and finally the ballon will got broken due to the sumpit shooting on it and it will show the text about my name and short warmest greetings. The drawings of mine do not look so good and hope you all don't mind about it. Thanks ya.

Assignment 2 (Homepage)

This is the simple homepage that I have done. Having quite a challenging time in using the functions and tools in Dreamweaver 8. Wish that I can master the tools well after some practices again.

Finalized E-Wallpaper

Above is my final E-wallpaper. Thanks!

90% of E-Wallpaper for FOM Open Day

This is my almost complete e-wallpaper. It has slightly different with my initial idea of putting the mascot and date on the space of the lady's hand. I thought of how to fulfill the much spaces at the middle, so then I decided used the photos with frames to fulfill it and also can symbolize the progress of education in MMU. I will see if there is any changes and idea needed to put in before the submission date. Please feel free to give comment and advices on my work, thanks. Thanks to ah bee and zhen yi on their comments and advices on my work.

E-Wallpaper Process

First Step: I take the brown colour background wallpaper which I found from search engine as my e-wallpaper by using move tool to grab it and attached to the A4 wallpaper’s background layer.

2nd Step: I use the move tool to drag the footstep picture from the picture I found and attached it onto the up right edge of the wallpaper. I use the transform function of scale by making it smaller than the original which is slightly bigger. Then I had use the drop shadow, outer glow and inner glow to make it slightly glowing effect on it.

3rd Step: After using the horizontal type tool by edited the contents of faculty of management open day and the date as well on the upper middle, I have used the drop shadow, outer glow and the color overlay on the “OPEN DAY” to make it as the main information of this event and less focused on the glowing effect on the “Faculty of Management” as I only used outer glow on it. Besides that, I had also use the move tool to drag the E-bee MMU and attached it on the left side of the words contents to make it as the mascot symbol welcoming the public to attend the event by through the waving hand. I dint change the mascot colour or putting any effect on it as I don’t want it to grab the main attention from the “OPEN DAY” itself.

4th Step: Here I had use the move tool and dragged the professional man and lady with formal wear and lady with the hand rise upward on each of the middle left and middle right to show something that I will attach in the following step. For the blending effects, I had used the outer glow effect on the professional man and inner glow effect on the lady.

5th Step: I had used the rectangle tool to make a horizontal box below the professional wear lady and man. In the middle of the box, I had used the move tool and drag the MMU logo to attach in the box. Of the box itself, I had used the dark brown grey colour on its background colour and had used the drop shadow, bevel and emboss “texture”, gradient overlay and stroke effect on it to make it as a more visible and solid layer than the wallpaper background.

6th Step: Here I had used the rectangular marquee tool to cut up the rectangle shape of the photo frame I needed and use the move tool to drag it out there and attach on the space above of the hand of the lady.

7th Step: After attached the photo frame on the wallpaper, then I had use the transform tool by scaling and rotating the photo frame and a mature father graduate with its daughter’s picture so that the graduate picture be fitted to the space between the spaces in the photo frame. This photo frame and the picture is to show the memorial and happy moment snapped and there is endless learning regardless of the age and border.

8th Step: Here I had used the duplicate layer function to have another two (2) same frame picture and I had attached the pictures of graduation and group study on these two (2) photo frame. I had also used the transform function of scaling and rotating to make the pictures fitted on the photo frame.

Final Step: Here I had used the horizontal type tool to edit my theme “Take the first step to make the difference” below the footsteps and the MMU website’s url below the horizontal box and that’s all I had done. Thanks to ah bee and zhen yi’s advices on my work. Thanks.
