Project's Objective
To learn the design skills in the Adobe Photoshop CS2 by creating a E-wallpaper for FOM open day to promote and create awareness to the public about Multimedia University's Faculty of Management Open Day event which dated 21th March 2009 which is coming soon and the courses offered.
Approach
It's take quite a long time for me to figure how should I make my idea looks attractive and not messy. For the backgroud, I have thought of putting black colour as my background colour. For my idea of putting a teenager steps or foots on the wallpaper and progress into a professional persons who wear formal, I have went to search in the google to find some pictures about the foots of teenager and i find some from the Levi's jeans advertisement as there are many pictures teenager wearing jeans. I am using these pics with the casual jeans wear to symbolize that they are still on the stage of their decision making progress for their future. I found one picture with foots of 2 persons wearing jeans(male & female) which i believe is equitable and suit for my theme "taking first step..." below is the picture i wanna use in my e-wallpaper and i will put it at the upper left edge as the picture as it already is and making the outline with glow colour to make it as attention attractive point. the foots of teenager picture is as below:
For the middle upper part of the wallpaper, I will put the MMU logo on it to represent the Multimedia University’s symbol. Below the MMU logo, I will put the ‘Faculty of Management Open Day” on it. And below the “Faculty of Management Open Day”, I will put my theme idea of “Take the first step to make the difference” on it. These all words I will make it into gold colour with outline glowing effect except the MMU logo which will remain in its original colour’ Blue and Red”. The mmu logo I will use is as below:

At the 2.5/3 space on the bottom left of the wallpaper, I will attach the pictures of a professional Chinese man on the left and foreigner lady right beside him who are wearing formal wear to symbolize the professionalism and multinational university. I will make it the outlines of these pictures with brighter white glow colour than the footsteps to show the result by stepping into MMU to seek tertiary education. Below are the pictures of the professional people which I will attach:
For the picture of the professional lady whose left hand is putting upward and seems looking at some interesting stuff on her hand, I will put the date of the FOM open day dated 31 March 2009 on the space of her hands to grab the attention of people on the happening date of this event. Besides, I will put the Ebee of MMU just right beside the date to symbolize the mascot and symbol of MMU to make it more interesting with the creative animation icon. During this period, I have been thinking and thinking of the idea and theme which I can use it in my e-wallpaper. After some time, the idea just come out after I read my financial planning book about the specific statements. I have decided to use the theme “Take the First Step to Make the Difference” in my wallpaper. Then I sketched up the idea on a paper. So after decided on the theme and sketch, I have searched the relevant pictures based on my theme through the google search engine and found some. I have watched through some of the tutorial video clips given by Ms. Lydia on the skills in using the Adobe Photoshop CS2. Although I had watched the video clips and attending the tutorial, I still haven’t master the tools and skills of editing the picture using Photoshop because lack of training and practice. I have installed the Adobe Photoshop CS2 in my laptop during this period in order to edit my pictures and idea in the wallpaper, unfortunately, my considered outdated laptop hardly can support the system of Adobe Photoshop. It happened because the laptop system will showing ‘memory too low’ and the system got jammed every time I tried to open a picture and edit it. As this, I cant able to submit my progress of photoshop editing on time and I only able to sketched out the idea and pictures I will use in the wallpaper.
6 – 11 March 2009
Today (6.3.09), I have to take and borrow my gf’s laptop which has higher capability from her coursemate travelling from JB. I have to borrow from her in order to make my e-wallpaper progress smoothly by using the photoshop through her laptop. During this period, I will start with my photoshop editing asap and upload the progress of it to my blog. I will seek the advice and consultation from my tutor about my 70-80% works and make some amendments and changes on my wallpaper’s design based on the comments.
Finally I hope everything will going smoothly and able to submit a high quality work on time with no obstacle.
